Cwmbach Male Choir are based in the village of Cwmbach, near Aberdare. They were founded in 1921 and have a long-standing tradition of choral singing.
The choir consists of a group of 65 male singers who come together to perform a wide range of choral music, including traditional Welsh hymns, popular songs, and contemporary compositions. Their members are drawn from various backgrounds and age groups, united by their love for singing and their commitment to maintaining the rich tradition of male voice choral singing in Wales.
As a registered charity (No 702473) their focus is not only on musical excellence but also engaging with the local community. Participating in various charitable events and community activities, they strive to promote Welsh culture and heritage through their performances. In 2022 the choir followed Tom Jones on stage at the Principality stadium to open the Stereophonics “We’ll Keep a Welcome” homecoming concert in front of a crowd 75,000.
Their commitment, talent, and contributions to Welsh music and the community have made them a respected and beloved institution within the Welsh choral music tradition.
