Elena Cataraga AKA Lena Scissorhands is the charismatic singer of the Moldovan alternative metal band Infected Rain.

Born and raised in Moldova, Lena lived in different countries and now is based in the USA.

Elena’s musical love began at a young age, and she quickly developed a passion for the heavy, emotionally charged sounds of rock and metal.

In 2008, she co-founded Infected Rain, blending elements of nu-metal, industrial, and progressive metal to create a distinctive and unique sound.

As the band’s lead vocalist, composer and lyricist, Elena‘s voice has been captivating audiences worldwide with her intensity, authenticity, and stage presence.

Over the years, Infected Rain has released 6 full length albums, and played everywhere in the world.

A crucial turning point in Elena‘s vocal development came when she sought the guidance of renowned vocal coach Melissa Cross, known for her expertise in heavy metal vocal techniques. Melissa Cross is widely regarded for her work with some of metal’s biggest voices, and Elena’s training with her stared in 2013 and helped refine her vocal abilities and allowed her to master the harsh vocal techniques.

The band’s music touches on themes of personal struggle, mental health, and awareness, resonating deeply with fans around the globe.

Elena is not only known for her musical talent but also for her passionate advocate for individuality and authenticity, encouraging others to embrace their true selves.

Through her work with Infected Rain, Elena Cataraga has become an influential voice in modern metal, known for pushing boundaries and inspiring others with her powerful sound and unapologetic approach to both music and life.
