Dakesis are a Progressive Power Metal band with a reputation for electrifying showmanship.
Formed in 2008 in Birmingham, UK with a self released four track EP, they have since released two critically acclaimed full length albums – the anthemic power metal debut Trial by Fire and most recently “The New Dawn”, a thirteen track concept album that marks a dramatic change in direction and sound with more progressive influences and the addition of powerful orchestral backing alongside session pianist Jacob Underwood.
Support slots with the likes of Edguy, Pagan’s Mind and Blaze Bayley, and an exclusive acoustic performance at Bloodstock Open Air 2012 propelled Dakesis from local heroes to mainstays of the national touring circuit.
This Christmas Dakesis joined forces with Fury to do a cover of ‘Fairytale Of New York’ originally by The Pogues.
In 2016 the band set their sights towards the mainland with a Finnish tour supporting Thunderstone, including a huge performance at the iconic Tavastia Club in Helsinki. Dakesis returned triumphant to Bloodstock Festival in 2017, performing a showstopping headline set on the Hobgoblin New Blood stage to rapturous reviews.
Work now begins on the next chapter for Dakesis with a rigorous UK touring schedule ahead and a bombastic new album in the pipeline, but whatever comes next for the prog-power metal stalwarts – it is sure to be epic!
